Dark red with berry fruit and spice aromas. On the palate tart cherry and plum flavors with smoky pepper spice, sharp acidity and oak notes. Tannins are a bit harsh and rustic, medium finish ending with smoky notes. Ok for 10 bucks.

Yeah OK 93 points from James Suckling might be a stretch but really outstanding QPR. Big dose of oaky dark fruit on the nose when you first open, tames out a bit and medium-light body with some robust tannins, really stretches out to a lovely wine with airing out.

Crazy dark purple tinged color. Lovely in the glass. Smells Spanish. Hint of warm wood (cedar?) to go with the cherry-berry stuff. Maybe a hint of sage. Flavor is classic. Mountain wild berries. Bitter inky tannins. Freshness. Crisp. Very dry. Reminds me of Evodia a bit. Plenty of anise and licorice on the backside. It’s a lovely example of granacha’s expression in Spain..
