Medium orange-rimmed ruby in color. Not too expressive on the nose: some dried flowers, albeit with stems and potting soil. Medium plus bodied. Medium minus acidity. Dry with nice initial palate feel but then gives way to bitterness and somewhat rough tannins. Medium alcohol at 14.0ABV but feels hotter. Some cranberry/unripe strawberry left, but not much else--pehaps some woody vanilla. At 8 years old, I would expect some tertiary flavors to have begun to develop. I don't think this is improving. It's a strong Brunello with a stiff upper lip, would pair well with a Florentine steak, but not elegant.

This is the 2016 San Giorgio Ugolforte Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese.

On the nose there is cherry, strawberry, roasted pepper, tomato, leather, smoke and dusty earth.

On the palate there is cherry, red plum, blackberry, licorice, menthol, spice, clove, minerals and earth.

This winenis medium bodied with a smooth silky mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium + fine grippy tannins that leads to a long red fruit woodsy finish. I wish everyone a wonderful weekend and enjoyment of wine, family and friends. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Rustic... This comes across as a Chanti Classico Riserva. Red fruit on the front, earth, bitter chocolate, with a a bit of heat. Enjoyable tannins. This will get much much better!

Strong sour cherry and over ripe red fruit masked almost everything else. Not sure what more to say but a resounding meh.

This is lip-smacking yummy! Balsamic, plum, hibiscus, and subtle, smokey vanilla on the nose, with smooth as silk tannins and fresh med ++ acidity. Balance, length, and super aging potential as well. Great to drink now, but I predict it will get even more complex as it ages.

Amazing value...really beautiful. One of the best quality for value wines I've had in a while.

Leaning modern in style with some riper cherry and licorice notes, but all heart and soul Sangiovese. Grill some meat and pull a cork!
