Omaka Reserve Marlborough Pinot Noir

Fantastic. Not your average Otago Pinot, but they turned consistently good into great. Light & bouncing with flavour.

Violet clear light color; red fruits and green spices and lots of oak; all confirmed on the palate with smallish tannins, moderate-high alcohol and dry medium finish. Overall delicious but the oak is too prominent and lingers with the finish in a supple but unbalanced way.

Solid, perfumed, cherries.

Delicate and perfumed nose with cherry, mulberry, vanilla, red plum, hints of underbrush and caramel. Well balanced, tannin is still green, though I don't believe this wine has much potential. Horizontal juicy palate, short aftertaste with flavours of oak and cherry. Tasty, easy going and friendly.

Rich ripe fruit, baking spices, toast and cassis. Firmly structured mid-palate tannin with surprisingly youthful acidity.

Not bad. Rich and oaky with slightly leathery texture. Short finish but a big oak fruit bomb which can be nice on some occasions. Not a discussion piece.

Cool silky steam rushing through dark cherry honeycomb cells

Very complex, long aftertaste.
