Jul 11th, 2021Nice Oakville cab - more medium than full bodied. Good structure. Very enjoyable at Pacifica Del Mar Happy Hour.

Aug 21st, 2020First of the reds from Saddleback Cellars. Deep and dark ruby red with garnet edges. Lots of layers on the nose. Starting off with damp earthy notes and leaves. Followed up with some mushrooms and truffles. Slight smokey undertones as well as some plums. Moderate tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Definitely seemed older than it is. Some greenery and bell peppers on the palate with some dark fruits and slightly savory undertones too. Long and lingering finish. So complex and layered from the nose all the way through the palate. Rustic in style and not overly fruity but definitely in the undertones. Drink till 2026.

1 person found it helpfulJul 8th, 2016Lovely expression of Oakville Cabernet. 45% new oak. Quite a bit of oak. Balanced fruit, earth, oak and tannin. Will certainly improve over the next decade, too.

Jan 24th, 2020Deep dark ruby red color. Red and dark fruit on the nose. Nice fruit, some greens, and earthen flavors. Medium tannins. Nice long finish. A big cab. I think this one may mellow out with a couple more years of resting.

Aug 9th, 2018Wow now.....damn fine juice. Bold, but there is a hint of something there I don't like. A 1/2 hour later it was mostly gone, which improved the overall enjoyment greatly! A solid LB find from a year ago.

Aug 27th, 2017This is ridiculous. I waited until day two to form my opinion. Last night I opened and decanted about 30 minutes but it was too cool. Notwithstanding a little disappointment, I knew their was promise. Today it delivered BIG. Deep ruby red. Earthy nose. Forest. Some plum fruit, but it is an undertone. Layered beauty. Tannins more smooth than grippy. This can age longer. Truly lovely. Will wait a while to open another bottle.
