This beautiful cab dominant blend (15% merlot) promises to be one of their best vintages in a long while. Dark fruits with a depth of flavor uncharacteristic for an only slightly big medium-bodied wine. Playfully spicy with a good tannic core. This got better each day over a 5 day timeframe. This is gonna be a great wine in 5 years.

Whoa—this is rising to its peak but not there yet. Spiced blackberries, moon grapes, and dried cherries. Cured olives. Oak and charred oak. White pepper. Crisp acidity. Beautiful dry Tannins. A few more years in the cellar will make this special.

In a great place. Cab blend w cab franc and petit verdot. Black raspberries, dark cherries, some tobacco notes and some black pepper. Mellow smooth tannins at finish. Sadly the last of my 09 Simone. 👎

It's interesting. This is the second meritage blend I've had in the last little while. This was a blend of 79% cab sav, 12% cab franc, 6% petit Verdot and 4% merlot. I very much enjoyed the CF in here. Wonderful nose. Very perfumed. A lush mouthfeel with silky tannins. An extremely pleasant finish. I knew nothing of Ruston before this but I will have to seek them out in the future.

I must say that I thought I was all about "pure" wines. These last couple of wines have me thinking a lot more about Bordeaux. I don't even know where to start!

Over the top in both fruit and oak. Can't drink more than one bottle, if that. Sorry.
