Stunning find in Pennsylvania a couple months ago. If you guys do not know about the Peter Barlow bottling it is a part of Rustenberg's site specific bottlings. This is made up of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged for 24 months in 64% new French oak barrels.
Super dark ruby core with garnet edges. Really stinky with some dirty cellar notes and South African funk on the nose. A bit of bacon, mushrooms and forest floor too. Balanced acidity with medium plus tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus to full bodied. Layered palate with tons of earthiness and dark berries. A touch green in the undertone. Long and dry finish. Drink till 2023.

No expense spared here on either the quality of fruit or the oak. Not really a 'Meritage' as seemingly 100% Cabernet Sauvignon but full, rich and complete with no need for other blending components. A delicious & elegant wine and probably the Cape's best of this style.

Mature rounded tannins. Perfect time to drink this bottle. Classic cassis and green bell pepper with a full peppery finish. Superb.

Intense aromas and color, Black fruits, licorice and fine grained well integrated tannins with a chewy finish. Near its peak form! Superb long finish.

Great nose. Already drinkable. Opening well. Rounded. Good wood. Will mature for years to come. Great South African Cabernet.

16.5/20 (90/100) Аромат спелых ягод черники и чёрной смородины, макового зерна и шоколада. Тельное с высокой кислотностью и интенсивными, вяжущими танинами. Мощно, даже грубовато.

Bell pepper and pyrazines dominate. Edgy, drying tannins. See if it opens up.
