This wine is as dark as ink in the glass. It smells dark, too, with notes of black cherry, blackberry, clove, cinnamon, forest floor and hints of vanilla and cedar. The palate is bold and fruity, with cherry flavors hitting the tongue first. The sweet oak spice is enjoyable, not overdone. Tannins are firm and the wine has a good tannic grip. The overall feeling of sweetness is beautiful, but don’t expect a dessert wine. This is a truly enjoyable red wine at a truly affordable price.

Great with spicy food as the sweetness pairs nicely. (Having this right now with hot chicken). Vanilla and cherry a hint of smoke and everything nice.

Complex and heavy, this wine features as a Napa - like fruit bomb coupled with a more mature aroma: ripe fruit and spice, fresh cut flowers on the midpalate; a bit of smoke on the nose. Tannins feel like a dusting of cinnamon.

Trader Joe's, $10

Very rich, dark, and fruity, reminds me of port or raw grape juice. It's almost sweet but with a dry bitter after taste that I like. Feels harsh in the mouth, but very smooth when swallowing

Big red wine. This definitely needs to be aerated or decanted. Ripe and round with juicy blackberries, black cherries, and black plums on the palate. Notes of chocolate.

Wow, I'm a fan. Greeted instantly by a dark ruby shade with dark fruit notes. Tasted blackberry, cherry, and a hint of vanilla. Full-bodied, mediums tannins. Paired very well with lamb chops. Bought from Trader Joe's for an excellent price!

Not the first time drank but still excellent! My wife said “is this a Mueller? Nope, just another one of the fine wines from an obscure (to U.S. wine aficionados) wine making regions of Italy - Puglia, the “boot”of Italy. Nice aroma but who really buys on smell alone (I know it’s part of taste…yada yada). Fine balance, managed tannins…palate notably smooth and taste…big dark berry to me. A great value, full flavored with all those other tastes, I suppose, the pro raters say. This wine compares nicely with the big deep flavors of Napa and Russian River Pinots - wines many times pricier. Keep on buying at Trader Joe’s.
