Rudius
Bedrock Vineyard Mourvèdre
Dark reddish purple. Aromas of plum, violets, and gravel as well as a savory/meaty quality. Dark fruit evident on the palate with medium tannins, neutral oak, and 14.5% ABV. Jeff Ames, who makes wine for TOR Kenward, makes this under his own Rudius label.

Dec 31st, 2018I agree with @Greg Ballington’s notes on this. This is top drawer in its varietal category.
Now my take-off points for the cellar chiller unit are visible. Baby steps closer...

Brilliant. This is soaring now, and will continue to improve with age.
Bright and breezy. Love the flowery notes, along with the tight focus. Good tannic structure and high-pitched acidity. Finishes sweet. Did you know that this is also known as Monastrell?

Packaged as a Rhone imposter, but has a very contemporary nose of barrel toast and vanilla.
Beautiful presentation in the mouth with neutral oak. Lovely tannins support the rich, ripe fruits of cherries and blackcurrants. Finishes sweet and long. Very impressed.

Delicious dinner with Adam and Brittany Of #rudiuswines. Very exciting to be visiting next month.
Deep ruby red. Took a little bit of time to fully open up. Tons of layers on the nose with purple flowers, perfumes, red cherries and darker ones. Additional notes of coal, dried herbs, a little dusty and a bit of iron too. Moderate tannins (5.5/10) and medium bodied. Beautiful Mourvèdre with tons of true Rhône characteristics. Very floral, savory notes, iron, red cherries and earthy notes. Long and dry finish. Delicious wine and an exceptional effort by Jeff Ames. Drink till 2025.
Aged for 22 months in 100% neutral French oak.

Seamless and put together very well but the acidity was lacking. I’ve had CdRs with better acidity.

Apr 24th, 2020Complex nose of fruit and herbs. Full bodied. Savory. Tannins harsh on the finish—needs more time.

Feb 2nd, 2020Still showing its youthfulness with dark fruit flavors of blackberry and ripe black cherries. Medium tannins that mellowed nicely over two hours. Some spice notes that were similar to some Syrahs that I have had recently.
