Terrific acid, bright red fruit, the perfect follow in to an epic Bordeaux tasting last night.

I was seeking a fruity red for the grilled swordfish with orzo and spinach and chose this. Peppery, nicely balanced. A tasty Tuesday wine!!

So. Good. Clearly Gamay. Clearly from California. Fruit and body over sinew and stones.

THIS is what I was hoping this project would produce. Much better than the '11, and owning its sense of place - Gamay from California, not trying to be Morgon. Rocks, dark cherries, tea and flowers. So good.

Super reduced funk on day 1. Blossoms with air and patience into earthy, herbal, fruity goodness.
