Decent depth. Think it could open up more if allowed. Easy to drink.

This is my first experience with this wine company. This is Rowen 2015 red blend at about 50 dollars a bottle. Very very opaque. Thick legs. But initially sour. I just had some chocolate to calm my palate. After decanting for an hour it is much better. Raspberry blackberry dark currant on the initial palate. The mid palate tingles the tongue with oak and spice. The finish is quick. Mildly dry with a slight sour note on the finish.

On 1/15/22 had 2014 vintage. Smooth, soft, with just a hint of brightness at the end likely due to the viognier. It had a hint of Cabernet Sauvignon taste, but overall, it was plain and had little aroma or flavor. Maybe it is too old now, and the aromas have faded. I had tasted it when I bought it, so I must have liked it then.

I’ve had a couple of bottles of this on two separate occasions. Higher extraction, rich red blend. Purple black fruit, vanilla and spice on the nose. A bit more vanilla than I care for from new oak on the palate. After a week in the wine fridge and served on a cool fall evening the balance improved markedly. #sonomacounty

Full, less tannic than I’d hope for.
