Omnia Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend
Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Southern Rhône, Rhône, France

Limpid violet. Displays seductively perfumed raspberry preserve, exotic spice and lavender oil qualities on the nose, along with hints of incense and smoky minerals. Juicy, seamless and energetic on the palate, offering intense red berry liqueur, fruitcake and floral pastille flavors that show outstanding clarity and spicy cut. Fine-grained tannins frame a strikingly long, penetrating finish that shows superb red fruit- and mineral-driven persistence. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, December 2019)

Bold savory notes on the nose with bell pepper and spices. Tobacco, smoke meat, herbs and spices on the palate. Very powerful.

As elegant and feminine as a CDP can get. Was thrown off at first and could have said a Cotes-de-Beaune. Given the producer though, it all makes sense.

Yum. Crushed granite, flint, exotic spices, earth, flowers, roasted red fruit, compote, ash, herbal, black licorice, green peppercorn and animal. Very complex and showing well but can definitely keep aging. A richer style I suppose but manages grace and complexity to me. The tannins provide a sense of rusticity that cannot be matched outside of S. Rhône that I love

Couldn’t quite feel the love with this wine. Came with quite a bit of fanfare and expectation but remained unbalanced with a sharp green note I don’t care for but my wife loves. All in the eye of the beholder I guess. Tasted young, fresh, minerally and spicy. Not like a GSM I would have expected from Southern Rhone. No earthy undernotes. But, hey, I might be all wrong about this because I have never been there. Maybe that is not a distinct character of the wines from there.
