Top Notes For
Sipping Fine Wine

Blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Counoise, Syrah and Cinsault, deep Ruby color with aromas of berry fruits and oaky notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, plum and black cherry with licorice, oak and earthy tones. Fine tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, oak and earthy character.

Scents of smoke, minerals, crushed flowers and herbs precede a balanced pallet of bramble, cranberry peels, hints of pomegranate, cloves, and oak. Sticky tannins upon uncorking mellow after an hour or so. Enjoyable, but wished for more complexity.

Smoky, earthy, dark fruit, flowers, dried herbs, all washed down with mouth-cleaning acid. Pleasing finish but only middling complexity mid-palate. A tasty and versatile wine. Liking it more by the minute. $29. 14% abv. Somm Select.

My assessment has not changed much since June (see below). Back label encourages decanting and now I see why. Loves the air and wants nothing more than to spread its wings. Glad I have two more.
