Good memories and still good, definitely a cool climate wine

Licorice and eucalyptus. Held on nicely for 9 years, has softened to an easy drinking red blend.

On opening seemed I’d left it too long but an hour in the decanter did the trick opened up to a delightful wine although certainly with tertiary prune and leather influences. Sweet dusty tannin shining through the palate with some exotic spice to round it all out. Very happy! 🍷😀

‘96 bought through an auction. Always a gamble, but this was well stored. We used to buy this in our early poor days— 3 kids and one nominal salary. Nostalgic purchase that has held up remarkably well. Delicious!

I found this '94 Rosemount Shiraz/Cab 'Mountain Blue' from Mudgee in a case I thought was empty, Although I was not expecting much, the color was a surprisingly bright ruby. Initially, the wine was quite tart, but with a little aeration the red cherry and racy spice sweetened to a very pleasant flavor profile. It complemented my Spaghetti nicely for an unexpected treat. Not much of a finish though.
