Oak Ridge Vineyard Gewürztraminer

Austere, not as floral as I like gewürztraminer to be but unctuous with extra skin contact. Subtle notes of pear candy and orange marmalade. Dry slightly sappy finish.

This is a well made and well priced orange wine. Savory and herbal. Tea, flint, and orange peanut candy on the nose. Soft and wispy. Texture that can get a red drinker into whites. I want this with blackened shrimp and sweet potato fries, but it’s not too funky to have on its own, or with duck? “It Could Happen to You”

I can't understand this style of winemaking and it seems like the winemaker is trying to reinvent the wheel. Calling out "minimal input to best represent the vineyards and farmers that it all started with." is a stretch. Aldehydic, possible pediococcus infection, sour and dry and bitter finish. Seems to be a genuine lack of care respect for the the fruit and wine.

Tangerine tea. Twigs. Flowers. Very nice.

This was much better than I anticipated! So much floral...elderflower. Citrus and apricot on the tongue. And it lingers...yum.

I like this a lot. Cross between rose and orange.
