Rombauer's cabernet wines are a bit hit and miss, but this one is the big hit. Beautiful texture and tannins...a bit minty.

The cork went to pieces so I feared I'd let this red blend cellar too long. Let it sit awhile and what unfolded was better than I could have hoped. Tannins still alive and of high quality. Red fruit is giving way to flint, tobacco and allspice. Complex with outstanding structure. Don't tthink they planned on longtime cellaring but it was a JOY🍷🍷🇺🇸🇺🇸

Elegant French oak, high toned cherry, plum, blackberry, vanilla bean, tobacco, and bell pepper. Round and rich, with bright red berry and plum fruit. Acid and tannin are well aligned. Well developed and finishes with persistence. Paired perfectly with prime rib.
