Pinkish Italian wine, very well developed. Reminds me of a rombauer or earthquake zin. Solid. Only drink if you want something deep, rich, and complex. Pairs very well with green grapes and crackers, but not a dry aged steak or seafood. Not a heavy drinking wine.

Clear, medium ruby in color. On the nose, it's clean with pronounced primary and secondary aromas of blackberries, blueberries, vanilla, pencil shavings, and crayons. On the palate, it's dry, with high acidity, high tannins, high alcohol, full body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of plum sauce, blueberries, white pepper, and crushed gravel with a long finish. This wine is intense, complex, and maybe a little too in your face (which is a little off balanced if you don't like that sort of thing). This wine was quite tart — granny smith apple. But the intensity of flavor was remarkable. Afterwards Rombauer tasted subdued by comparison, albeit much oakier. Very little oak, if any, that I could detect on this one. — 5 years ago
