Raspberry & candied cherries in the nose with raspberries & maraschino cherries in the palate. Very good friendly, the cab matched well with ham, prosciutto, Parmesan & mild cheddar. Did not go well with dark chocolate or a chocolate chip chocolate brownie. — a year ago
Grass & herbs in the nose. Lime, grapefruit & passion fruit in the palate. Paired well with white cheeses. — a year ago
Pinkish Italian wine, very well developed. Reminds me of a rombauer or earthquake zin. Solid. Only drink if you want something deep, rich, and complex. Pairs very well with green grapes and crackers, but not a dry aged steak or seafood. Not a heavy drinking wine.

Cheaper version of Rombauer. Nice bitter taste if you like that. — 6 years ago
Medium lemon color with aromas of stone and citrus fruits, floral and spice notes. On the palate flavors of apple, apricot, peach and lemon citrus, vanilla and toasty spice, rich texture. Long finish, lively acidity, ending with fruit, oak, toasty spice and sweet citrus character. — 6 months ago
Clear, medium ruby in color. On the nose, it's clean with pronounced primary and secondary aromas of blackberries, blueberries, vanilla, pencil shavings, and crayons. On the palate, it's dry, with high acidity, high tannins, high alcohol, full body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of plum sauce, blueberries, white pepper, and crushed gravel with a long finish. This wine is intense, complex, and maybe a little too in your face (which is a little off balanced if you don't like that sort of thing). Overall, I would rate this wine as very good. — 10 months ago
Smooth, fruity, high alcohol. — a year ago
Notes of honeysuckle, apricot and clover on the nose. Viscous and velvet finish, like an amazing liquid honey. — 6 years ago
Fantastic Zin! Decanted for about an hour and opened up beautifully. Very smooth medium bodied wine with soft tannins and long finish. Paired with stuffed shells and a sausage meat sauce. Amazing combo!! — 6 years ago

Black fruit, especially blackberries and plums in the nose with blackberries, plums, figs and dark cherries. Paired well with mild cheddar & prosciutto, but not ham nor dark chocolate. — a year ago
2018 excellent wine. Very drinkable. — a year ago
Phenomenal in all aspect’s — 4 years ago
This wine was quite tart — granny smith apple. But the intensity of flavor was remarkable. Afterwards Rombauer tasted subdued by comparison, albeit much oakier. Very little oak, if any, that I could detect on this one. — 5 years ago
Very good full bodied like rombauer but more expensive — 6 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Founded in 1982 by Koerner and Joan Rombauer and sits on a tree covered knoll overlooking the Napa Valley, with caves that extend for over a mile. Pale lemon color with aromas of stone and tropical fruit, sweet oak, spice and floral scents. On the palate flavors of ripe peach, melon and apple, with vanilla spice, creamy texture. Medium+ finish, well balanced with acidity, ending with mineral notes. — 4 months ago
