Rombauer Vineyards
California Zinfandel
California, USA

87% of fruit sourced from Sierra Foothills, remainder of fruit from Napa and Lake Counties; about half the fruit is from the family's own vineyards, aged in oak (10% new). Dark Ruby, purple edges with aromas of berry fruits, tangy herb, pepper and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and ripe cherry with black pepper spice, vanilla and earthy sweet herbs. Soft chewy tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, dusty spice and earthy oak. Nice!

Blend of mostly Zinfandel with a nice splash of Petite Sirah, deep Ruby color with aromas of ripe berry fruits and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and plum with notes of licorice, herbs and pepper spice. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice and tobacco notes. Nice!

Mar 14th, 2026Clear, medium ruby in color. On the nose, it's clean with pronounced primary and secondary aromas of blackberries, blueberries, vanilla, pencil shavings, and crayons. On the palate, it's dry, with high acidity, high tannins, high alcohol, full body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of plum sauce, blueberries, white pepper, and crushed gravel with a long finish. This wine is intense, complex, and maybe a little too in your face (which is a little off balanced if you don't like that sort of thing). Overall, I would rate this wine as very good.

POV, you’re a wine lover and improvise just to savor the pairing. No plates: paper is okay. No wine key, plenty of tricks out there. No wine stemware: any glass will do. Cali Zin and Texas Brisket; priceless!
