Not terrible as a wine, but terrible for what it is. Bell pepper and unripe cherry, with loads of industrial metal on the finish which is very unbecoming of Cab Franc from the region. Comparatively green, muddy and indistinct, but with a bit of blood orange and limestone to keep things interesting.

Sad. This Chinon must've decided to quit being a decent wine prior to being bottled. With that, why would a big box chain store slap their label on it and force fee it to their clients? Ok ok, it's not unpalatable and that's the best part about this Cab Franc. It's decent enough to drink, but it quit before the end of its shift. Nothing outstanding on the nose. Light body with no finish. Any hope of flavor quickly disappears and does a reverse Bible trick of going from wine back into water. I try not to trash a wine, but I like to buy with confidence especially given this retail giant's reputation. Someone should've actually tasted this before they bought the entire lot. Ok, if you like Beaujolais Nouveau then this might appeal to you. But if like a wine that show terrior then move on to something else. Sorry for being so harsh but I generally like these "winery direct" selections which to me are like seeing Kermit Lynch or Eric Solomon on a label. Very disappointed.

Combination of strawberry & bell pepper won me over before I tasted it. Nice for the price.

Very soft acidic tune of creamed black cherry. The blacker the cherry, the sweeter the fruit..
Tingly lingerings. Approachable and darn right friendly, cab franc.
