Beautiful wine... I was in the cellar this year and remember how healthy the fruit and vineyard was... Chiseled rows by hand... This was back when my father was in charge of the vineyard and cellar. Farming was pure and clean. It's disappointing to see how the farming has changed post 2004 (after constellation took over)... With that said you can still find beautiful organic farming adjacent to where this came from via @Graeme MacDonald To Kalon vineyard (not named To Kalon even though it is historically a To Kalon Vinyard and site). That along with a few others are the real To Kalon and real wines worthy of collecting in this area today... But this wine was delicious.

Aging like a champ, and still plenty of life ahead.

Solid wine. Nice blend. Good fruit and structure. Drink now or feel confident laying down.

Interesting nose and there is some life left but the fruit is somewhat plummy and seems ready to retreat. For now, it's still balanced yet not really persistent.

Definitely needed a long decanting but was fun to watch the flavors develop from first opening to 3+hours later.

Drinking this 17 years in proves the patience is rewarded. I only wish I had more of that - patience (extra bottles would be nice as well!).
Balanced, dark fruit, nuanced.
