Hotel room, Tour de France.. a perfect time to try out a Staff favorite’ wine. (Aka what the shop owner tells you to sell!)
Gentle.
Soft and floral, with vanillin parting for the occasional twig and berry Pinot hit to the taste buds, and back into the vanillin.
Easy crowd pleaser, easy stelvin travel wine.

Very smooth, a little earthy and just enough acid for most dishes. We had it with swordfish, but would be very versatile.

1 person found it helpfulNov 22nd, 2016I don't generally care for Pinot Noirs. I find them too light and too fruity. But THIS Pinot Noir is delicious. Bold for a PN. Delicious with the Mediterranean Grilled Veggie & Lamb pizza we made and, I suspect, also will be delicious with the duck for which it was originally intended (to be tried soonish). A real winner for Pinot Noirs!

Some earthiness brings this wine to a medium finish. Not overly complex and out of balance. I would grab other Pinots at similar price points. Tasting Sample.

May 18th, 2016Definite barrel tones on the nose, spice, lacquer, and mushroom. The palate has some dark cherry, strawberry, licorice, and a very mellow mouthfeel.. Touch of acid, smooth going down. Great food wine.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, blueberries, wood, light vanilla, ripe cherries, oak and minerals.
Medium bodied and balanced with nice acidity.
Medium finish with soft tannins .
This Russian river Pinot Noir Reserve is much nicer than their Sonoma Pinot.
Poured by the wine maker, Joe Freeman, which made this experience even nicer.
