Really pretty, high quality, fruit. Cherry and cranberry. A medley of non-fruit in the background waiting to come forward, but I didn't spend enough time with it. Just a mouthful without being heavy. Very soft, powdery, tannins. This will be a beauty in a few years.

2008 was Rippon's first vintage for Emma's Block Pinot Noir - tonight it was sublime.

Medium ruby just hint of garnet at core , wider garnet rim . Delicate a still red fruit scented nose , ripe strawberry, raspberry , hints of rose and touch of spice . On the palate good balance of ripe red fruits , with a touch of mineral , chalky but ripe tannins , refreshing acidity . Ok length and with lightly spiced sweet red fruited finish and mineral persistence . Drinking well now and over the 5-8 years. I feel that the Tinker’s Field has the edge over this in 2016

More elegant and fine boned than all the other pinots, but still incredible structure. More accessible but still backward.
