Riserva Rosso Biferno Montepulciano

Just opened. Big. Medium tannins. Dry.

Unusual blend of Montepulciano (80%) and Aglianico (20%). Aromas of black berry fruit, wood smoke, asphalt and roasted herbs. Flavors of blackberry, black plum and black raspberry fruit, black pepper, baking spices and tar. Hint of smoky oak on the medium-plus finish. Rustic in style with noticeable (not overwhelming) tannins. Medium-plus body. Interesting varietal combination.

Full bodied and intense, with notes of spice and vanilla. Complex flavors of cherry and plum, pairs well with sausage, a great buy at a very modest price point.

Enjoyable summer evening beverage. Dry. Well pairs with pasta.

Wonderful with food.

White chocolate macadamia lingonberry on the nose, mint chocolate chip, cranberry compote, unwhipped heavy cream on the palate. Strong tannins, velvety texture, super balanced, everything works in harmony. Showcases the flavors in a diversity of food beautifully and vice-versa. Having with nettle pesto chicken and kebab shrimp.

Smoky cherry aromas, easy, juicy, pleasant enough, inky finish

Wonderful informal red—perfect with a margarita pizza.
