Aug 11th, 2019The aroma of this old-vine Gamay from Coteaux Borguignons initially suggests Gamay, but after some air becomes quite Pinot-like. Ripe red and black berries, fruit liquor, star anise, savory herbs, white pepper and a touch of soy sauce. Palate is clean with tart fruit and medium acidity. Takes a bit to coax a ton of personality out of this, but certainly enjoyable and versatile.
