The '12 is tasting solid, its a rich chard that definitely points to California, with some butterscotch and toffee notes backing up the obvious barrel spice, but it's still retaining good acid and the alcohol isn't as evident as one might expect.

2012 vintage. Pale lemon. Full concentration - quite oaky and vanilla essence, ripe lemon. On the palate, medium minus acidity, full body and deep concentration. Bit too big for me. Drink now until 2023.
