Reynvaan Family Vineyards
In the Hills Estate Syrah
Deep, inky Ruby color. It’s 90% Syrah co-fermented with 10% viognier and the funky nose of barnyard and grilled meat gives way to forest floor, blackberry, black olives, black pepper, leather, sage and thyme (yes maybe even a touch of lavender). The connection to the northern Rhône is unmistakable alongside a New World emphasis on black fruit. This is still young and with another couple of years the diverse elements should come together in a glorious package. Long finish

Dec 27th, 2020My favorite syrah of the reynvaan portfolio. Despite not being from the rocks, i think it’s got the most funk. 95+

Dec 18th, 2021Honestly one of my favorite tastings. The in the hills syrah was surprisingly the funkiest despite not being from the the rocks district. The stonessence was rich and powerful. Two of our favorites with the foothillls reserve not far behind.
