What a nose. Deep penetrating cherry. Mid season sappy cherries, tons of earth, stones, sous bois, gorgeous Champans symphony. Wow. Palate is grippy, pure, juicy with terrific structure. Sappy, icing on cake texture. Terrific freshness and amplitude on the palate. Concentrated with tiny berry fruit intensity and wonderful energy and freshness. Young but not inaccessible.

I haven’t found this house to reflect what I love about Volnay. This is the best example I’ve had however. Lots of purity and grip here.

Stoney, quiet nose upon opening. Very mineral and only hinting at what it has to reveal. After some coaxing some black cherry emanates and fresh berry crunchy darker perfectly tiny ripe fruits in the nose that is so '12. Don't know if that made sense. You can smell the sense of volume. Palate is layered and rich. Nice high acidity and amazing levels of sweet and dark cherry fruit. Embryonic in its development as this bottle surely is for science, but what promise. What balance, poise, depth and purity. Has 20 years ahead of it.
