Oct 3rd, 2020Very aromatic and crystalline, the mix of ripe juicy wild red/black berry fruit mixes well with the wines more savory and mineral elements. I find the tannins quite pliant this vintage, there’s generosity there but enough lift and gentle grip to provide structure. A touch of ethyl acetate in the background but nothing offensive.

Sep 24th, 2020Tight and simple at first, but with time in the decanter dusty blue fruits, dank herb, violet, kalamata, graphite and rainwater emerge. Really delicious.

Jun 6th, 2020Bright violet. Pungent, mineral- and smoke-accented cherry and dark berry aromas expand slowly with air, picking up subtle olive and violet nuances. Chewy and tightly focused on entry, but opens up quickly to offer appealing sweet cherry and cola flavors. The smoky note recurs on an impressively long, gently tannic finish that leaves a suggestion of candied flowers behind. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, April 2020)

Brilliant violet. A highly aromatic bouquet evokes candied black and blue fruits, along with suggestions of smoky minerals, candied flowers, olive and cured meat. Deep, chewy and expansive in the mouth, offering concentrated dark berry liqueur, spicecake and salty olive flavors complicated by a hint of game and a building floral pastille note. Powerful but graceful, showing excellent clarity and mineral-driven thrust on the spicy, penetrating finish. All whole clusters. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, September 2019)
