This bottle had been opened an unknown amount of time before I was presented my first glass and it was enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2018 Arborina pours a garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Morello cherry, raspberry, roses, tar, a mix of cool and warm spices and dry gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. While the wine making at Renato Corino leans heavily modern, I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. It’s a bit flashy but it maintains its sense of place. Drink now through 2038.

Big wine with a decidedly masculine energy. Heavy duty minerality, licorice, creosote, resinous herb character and tons of dried rose petal. Tannins are more pronounced with air. This beast needs another 5 years in bottle. Going to be a badass.

Nez classique et déjà très ouvert! Surprenante attaque; nourrie, presque ronde en milieu de bouche et très long.

That floral candied nose! Wow! Still young but real fresh and smooth

More traditional style than the Coterno, more savoury notes and red fruits. A bit lighter body and tannin than I'd expect for such a young Barolo.

Sour candy and coca cola. Very soft tannins. This Arborina is in a great spot and truly singing!

Starting to reveal itself but additional cellaring is needed. I think this wine is going to improve considerably
