Amazing wine. So complex with smells and tastes then evolved every 15 minutes. Loads of red fruit, eventually became sappy. Wilted flowers, forrest floor, mushrooms, orange rind, energy, and length. Finish was record length.

Pierre Rovani's American touch is evident in his wines, as the possess more concentration and more oak than is typical for Burgundy. He is a staunch advocate for firm pressing and leesy aging. Combine this with a 100% new oak program and you will understand where all the power comes from. That being said, there is still great elegance. The 09 Cambolle-Musigny is seductive with ripe raspberry and spice leading into a wine that is surprisingly minerally, linear and focused. Beautiful tannins.

Had 2 bottles side by side. Both led with sous Bois and lengthy complicated red fruit. One bottle with lower ullage was better. #sommselect
