Since I last tasted this wine it has evolved beautifully. An explosion of dark fruit in the palate! Deeply structured and a delight to drink. And drunk it now as I believe it is at its peak.. And may remain so for the next year..?

Decanted for 40 minutes.. Dark cherry, tobacco, and licorice emerge... Tannin still apparent and diminishing after 90 minutes. This is terrific Sangiovese! Should last another 2-3 years but doubt it will evolve much more as forward fruit begins to fade with age.

This is a classic Montepulciano.. Plenty of fruit... Tannins and a hot mose...Needs to be open at least an hour before getting any light licorice and hints of dark cherry. Even so, not as complex or deep as the '05 Fanetti. Looking forward to another 3-4 years to try it again
