The Bard Red Wine

Decadent, but evolving to a more subtle space. Overripe cherries and light tobacco on the nose. The palate is dense and compact with cherries, coffee and barrel toast. Another wine requiring no food. Soft acidity, but finishes sweet. One of the few wineries we purchase from every year.

One of our fave Napa wines due to the fact that it’s consistent and restrained. Requires no food, just good company.

Year in, year out, this wine is a model of consistency.. just needs a few more years to further congeal. Nice balance and strong finish on the mid palate. Exceptional with my favorite pizza 👊🏾

Purple color & gorgeous notes of spring flowers, blueberries.
The palate is rich & expansive, with layers of dark berry, espresso underscored by silky tannins(typical Realm)that carry through to a lingering, almost Black Forest cake -liqueur-like finish?!?Guessing 100% new oak. No need to rush & open one.

This fairly shutdown at this point. It better futures lies ahead 10 years from now. The fruits are; ripe, lush and ruby. Dry powdery tannins. Blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, black plum skin, dark chocolate, coco powder, touch of mint, baking spices galore, soft, shuttle earthiness with purple florals.

Doesn’t quite have the density or concentration of the ‘14 bottling. Blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot. 14.6% ABV. $110.
