Bright, light in the mouth but deep flavor undertones. Really unique wine.

So fresh. Reminds me of Gamay at first. Deep dark red. Quite tannic dark berries black cherries hint cedar chalky a touch bitter. This has years to go. Needs many hours of decanting. Bottle 170 out of ? Very small production. From Max Kogod.

Second of two bottles (first tasted in Oct 2014). Both were oxidized and unpalatable.

This is the 2007 Raúl Pérez Prieto Picudo. Fantastic wine. Let it breathe for at least 2 hours to bring out a rich, full-bodied, dark wine. Nose is blueberries and white pepper. Palate is surprisingly bright with fine, rustic tannins. This is a very food-friendly with. Finish is very long. The combination of rich texture and bright acidity is a bit unusual and intriguing.
