Dominio de Pingus

Flor de Pingus Ribera del Duero Tempranillo 2016

Full bodied with crunchy fruit and a very fresh and focused finish. Got a bit of a rustic feel to it, but in a good way. Berries, potting soil, licorice, orange blossom, herbs. Still on the young side. — 19 days ago

Oh man, that looks so inviting in the glass.

Bodegas Volver

Single Vineyard Tempranillo 2019

Rustic, rich cherry vanilla tobacco and a savory, subtly tannic grip on the finish that’s oh-so-Tempranillo! 😊 — 5 days ago

Viña Bosconia Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2010

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim. What a beautiful color.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Showing cherries, raspberries, black plums, currants, oak, light vanilla, spices, cola, chocolates, earth, wet leaves, peppercorn, pencil lead, dark coffee, rust, blood and herbs.

Dry on the palate with a nice mouthfeel. Shows nice complexity at this point.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and pomegranates.

This 13 year old is starting to drink very nicely now, and will continue to age in the next 7 years.

Needs 3 hours to open up properly and show itself. Easy drinking once it opens up. Elegant with good structure.

Robert Parker 94 points.

Paired nicely with the Prosciutto.

A blend of 80% Tempranillo with Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo. Aged in used American oak barrels for five years.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

Ribera Del Duero Tempranillo 2014

Intense nose of dark berries, sweet spice, vanilla (oak) and smoke. Palette is equally concentrated and spicy. Round tannins, and just enough acidity to keep it refreshing. Still one of my favorite Spanish wines. — a month ago

Bodegas y Viñedos Vega Sicilia

Unico Ribera del Duero Tempranillo Blend 2006

As my first Vega Sicilia I admit that I was impressed by the depth of this wine and how well it paired with food. A wonderful wine for BBQ - perhaps next time!! — a month ago

Valbuena 5° Ribera del Duero Tempranillo Blend 2012

This is a Vega Sicilia. Character. Defined aroma. Balanced flavors, almost rounded: sour, sweet, bitter. Plums? Once shallowed remains, slowly fading, inviting remembrances, of enjoyed moments and drinks with friends. Worth repeat. — a month ago

La Rioja Alta

Gran Reserva 904 Rioja Tempranillo Graciano 2004

Columbia county 2.0: end of a meal, nightcap of sorts. So so perfumed with dill & vanilla & tree sap, as if Willy Wonka decided to get into winemaking. Really just lived for a while breathing this in. On palate it’s remarkably agile & light, even though the body of red fruits is firmly medium boned. No signs of decay or slowing down- even the cork was perfect-easily can go on another several decades ( it feels). God what a treat. — 10 days ago
