Hyde Vineyard Syrah

Absolutely stunning syrah from a fantastic grower. The hyde is rich and velvet, exhibiting notes of dried herb, nutmeg, dark cherries, smoked meat, and a touch of vanilla - paired with a 5 meat blended meatball, with a mint chimichurri (middle eastern flair). This wine with this pairing really accentuated the cinnamon notes in the food and wine. I could die happy in this combination.

Not the best work I've had from Ram's Gate. Unbalanced, displaying gamey, wild blackberries and blood flavors that don't mend together. Nothing like the 2012 bottle they produced.

medium to full bodied blackberry notes. paired with blue cheese mousse and dried fig on almond cracker. almond cracker brings out a tinge of oakiness.

Rams Gate. Slayer. Every. Single. Time.

Light taste with minimal to no after taste

Damn. Rich, deep, textured. All the notes you can wish for. This is gorgeous now and has strength left.

I think Bourdain would approve of this fabulously rich, yet unpretentious wonderfully pleasing Syrah

Needs decanting. Dark jammy fruits, gamy, bloody, licorice.
