This is a surprisingly superb Valtellina. Great value. Nose has macerated ripe wild cherry, such fragrant crushed stone, sweet spice, and just a draught of Alpine breeze sweeping over a glacier. Sorry. I got carried away. Lean but flavorful in the mouth. Great acidity, a wee bit of tannin. Finish just invites another sip. Love it.

Mineral, leather, tart cherry, bread pudding/flan on the nose… Iron, slate, chalk on the palate… very rustic! Tart mountain wine, different expression of Nebbiolo than its home while keeping the tannic structure!!
