Super fresh - the extra time in barrique (6 yrs) really helped integrate this - sediment from Ebro river

2003 vs 1970. Completely different wines from the same thread. Amazing experience at the winery.

Quite riper in this vintage, composed though with fresh/baked/dried red fruits, American oak and savory, spice elements.

2003, fruit was still a bit muted but that is my fault I really wanted a good Roja tonight. should have given this bottle another 10 yrs or so. plums and gravelly finish. Super balanced

Old reliable, never fails to provide pleasure. Though they have a Gran Reserva, almost every wine LdH makes could be considered a Gran Reserva if you care about that stuff.

Throwback Rioja style. Holy moly, elegant, earth, dirt, spice, balance, awesome acidity, smooth tannins. Really terrific.
