Reserva Field Blend Douro Red Blend

2012 Douros often overlooked after stellar 2011s. But this is stupendous, so deep and soon long.

Have many different vintages and stayed at winery. This is wow. Last bottle of this vintage. Big nose with black fruit vanilla bomb. Taste has less vanilla(phew) but packed with dark fruit with coffee/anise/tobacco mid palate with long taste. Absolutely delicious. Bigger/bolder than I thought would be. 11 years and probably not at peak but close. Very subtle chalky tannins that are well integrated.love it.

This was much better then the previous one in February! More fruit and less tannic. Went very well with fried chicken livers.

Very good. Douros make for nice drinking. Plum and cherry flavors throughout.

Field blend. No way to know exactly what the breakdown of grapes is in this wine. Old vine red that features super ripe plum, fig and cherry fruit with highlights of dark chocolate, balsamic vinegar and tobacco. Hint of mineral on the very long finish. A beautifully rustic wine made in a traditional rustic style. Revisited in July 2021. Still outstanding!

Nice Portuguese field blend.

Superb Wine!! Dark Berry fruits and minerals on the nose and pallet. Hints of meat, licorice, tobacco and herbs on the finish. Creamy texture. with just the right amount of oak. This wine will continue to improve with age!
