Last night I opened the 2015 Quilt Napa Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. From Rutherford, CA, Copper Cane Wines and Winemaker Joseph Wagner
On the nose there is black cherry, blackberries, black currant, licorice, vanilla, mocha, spice and a good vit of oak.
On the palate there is black cherry, blackberry, black currant, oak, licorice, spices and dark rich earth.
This is a full bodied wine with medium + to high acidity, and medium to medium + grippy tannins that leads into a long dark fruit earthy finish. Please stay safe and healthy and enjoy the weekend. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷

Quilt pays tribute to Napa Valley’s wines, sourced from a patchwork of prime Napa Valley vineyards. Met Joseph Wagner on his trip to CT and tasted his wines. Beautiful deep red color with bold aromas of dark berry fruits, sweet spice and cedar. Flavors of blackberry and cherry, some herb with vanilla, oak and leather notes, well balanced. Fine tannins, great mouthfeel on lingering finish ending with cacao and espresso tones. Has room to age. Tasting Sample. Nice, but a bit pricey!

Besides the waiter party foul of knocking a bottle over, this wine was solid.
Well liked by all. Very good structure and backbone to the wine.
Fruit was fairly dark and blackberry in nature. Nothing wild from a red or blue fruit perspective but good black fruit.
I find the quilt reserve to be a good find though a rare wine.

Blockbuster wine. More dense than regular caymus but holding the oaky sweetness. Not quite the complexity of caymus SS but close. Real crowd pleaser

Disappointingly unopinionated for the price point.
Update: after decanting, wine is much wider and more interesting. Spice and stewed tomatoes for the nose. Chocolate notes and boozy cherries.
