Wow wine from Davis. And well made wine at that. Given UCD enology and vitaculture dept I guess it's not surprising. This is a rich dark Tannat, old enough to have rounded and taken the fruitiness down several notches. The result is an fairly approachable and enjoyable wine but with zero subtlety. There is no alcohol rating on the label but it's high and you can smell it on the nose.

Smells like the grape base of port, rich ripe red/black fruit, nice body, tannins not too overwhelming.

Balanced. Nice tannins. Full and rich. A top valley wine. Berry, berry good. A great plummy and cherry infused element. Robust but tastes yummy.

Sweet in your face wine. This wine had come into its own over the last few years, a true joy to drink.
