Catching up on this Cabernet Tasting from 7 months ago. From Clevedon South East of Auckland NZ. Subdued dusty woody nose. More savoury than fruit driven. 51% merlot with Carmenere a surprise addition. Others preferred in this bracket.

2008 Vintage. Impressed!

This New Zealand ‘Right Bank’ blend was a big surprise. The delicate black and blue fruit are framed by discreet licorice and violet notes. The 12,7% ABV conserves the wine’s elegance. Paired with Creamy mushroom and ground beef pappardelle, would buy again… and again!

Quite smooth and floral and silky. After a while the peppery bitterness kicks in
