Sep 2nd, 2018I haven’t had a glass of wine in several days due to over indulging on Cinco de Mayo so I chose something that I’ve had before that I knew would be smooth, fruity and gentle with me! Full bodied, beautiful ruby red in color and full of cranberry and vanilla with a bit of earthiness.

Nice inexpensive Nero d'Avola. Smells like anise, dark plum, and blackberry. Tastes like raisins, oregano, prunes, with balanced acid and mild tannin. Good Wednesday night wine!

Beautiful ruby in color with a light ruby rim and medium intensity.
Fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, raspberries, earth, leather, pencil lead and peppercorn.
Medium in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with raspberries, cherries, strawberries, cranberries, oak, vanilla, licorice, earth, spices and black pepper.
Medium plus on the finish with round tannins and spices.
This Sicilian red is nicely balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food.
Not bold, but rather airy, with a great mouth feel. Easy drinking but not simple at all.
I paired it with a burger and fries.
13.5% alcohol by volume.

It's great! Take a walk on the dark side. Big, fruit-forward wine with plenty of appeal and Sicilian charm. Food welcome but not necessary.
