This was a real interesting wine. A Cab from Napa valley where they blend the latest year with all the previous years. They have done that for at least 13 years. So, indeed, a single variety blend of time in a bottle. If I understood it correctly, they add two barrels a year to blend with the previous years and bottle two barrels a year that they sell, about 600 bottles. We had bottle 320 of year X.
The wine was extremely good! Nearly perfect. Like a Trojan horse entering with polished but intense tannins that bursted open in rich dark fruit flavors with hints of dark leather and tobacco. It lingered for minutes on the finish.
