Reserva Maipo Valley Carménère

I just love a Carmenère wine and this one is delicious. Dark purple in color with notes of dark fruits and some pepper. Very smooth finish.

Updated tasting notes:

Much better the second time. Dark purple in the glass, and harboring vegetal aromas, black tea leaf, cracked black pepper, and cherry syrup on the nose. The pallet was slightly off balance, showing more acidity, and exhibiting notes of stewed cherry, mineral, oak spice, nutmeg, and a smooth finish. Pairs well with meats.

Medium ruby to purple in color; green peppercorns , cherries, and dried herbs on the nose; medium plus acidity; medium tannins; tastes like raspberries, plums, and bell peppers with a long fruity finish. Nellie says it's ok. I like it. Paired really well with a steak.

Dry

Ruby. Cherry or raspberry nose. Noticeable tannins, no real sweetness. Mild acid. Tannins may be a bit much compared to the fruit, but pleasant.

Damn tasty. Nicely balanced, soft tannins, a little fuller bodied than others I’ve had.

Typical distinctive Carmenera with sharp spice, green pepper and minerality.
