This took time to open when it did I leaned towards aged grand cru burgundy as the bubbles were fine and faded fast. Intense power and creaminess as it unfolded. Lots of acid that made this drink well with almost every dish.

Star bright burnished yellow gold with persistent tiny bubbles and a rapidly dissipating mousse. Abundant nose ("Can I just smell this?" asked my dining partner) of ripe pear and airborne ash. Medium palate is crisp (medium plus acidity) and confirms the nose adding fresh apricot and royal Anne cherry, the latter particularly assertive back palate and on the moderate finish. Pommery's tete du cuvée is on point as always, and this vintage isn't showing its age yet. Complexity to complement almost any cuisine but still in range for that special toast. Drink now through 2030 or so.

Tangerine, apricots, subtle roasted almonds. Yes, along with depths of evolving flavors that become more apparent at the end of your first glass(may I have another) I need a case of this in my life!

Nice golden color. Your nose is greeted by almonds, apples and fresh bread. The palate treats you to the flavors you just inhaled. Kept fresh by a nice twist of acid but overall complexity is low at this stage.”
