
Deep medium gold color. Great nose. Notes of biscuits, kiwi fruit, apple cider and citrus fruit. Nicely integrated fruit and structure in the mouth. With air this really blossomed. At peak and ready to go. Not as good as the 96 tonight though.

Medium gold color. Light tiny bubbles. Notes of green apples, bread yeast, some citrus and citrus pit, and river stones. Modest in the mouth at first but with air this grew up and improved. Maybe a touch past its prime but a good start to the evening… (Bday 1 of 12)

I've heard Winston drank up to 400 bottles a year of Pol Roger and after tasting this beauty... Only the 15th vintage....i know why. Certainly more pinot than any other grape this champagne drank like a wine after it was open for two hours. Delicious and crisp.... Thus monster spent ten years on the Lees but damn it's good.
