On the leathery, earthy side, but nice with pasta with a rich meat sauce. Nose has leather, menthol, crushed rock, not that much fruit. A little slightly medicinal cherry extract. In the mouth, it’s savory and earthy, with lots of iodine-tinged gravel, old furniture, and fruit well in the background. A little demanding on its own, but works with food.

This developed nicely over the course of several hours. Tight, with tremendous acidity, it ultimately shows tart, macerated cherry, leather, cracked stone-laced gravelly notes. Lean but intense. Great dinner Brunello. Should last and improve for at least another 5 years.

This took quite a bit of air to open up. Nose features warm sandstone scents, along with plummy dark cherry fruit. Broad but somewhat austere in the mouth. Good acids and drying tannins. Better with my grilled hangar steak than on it own.

UPDATE: on night 2, it seemed fresher and some fresh cherry fruit showed through. The drying, chalky tannins are still there, however. Together, this suggest that this wine will benefit from at least 2 more years of cellaring. Upping rating to 9.1.

2006 Reserva at its peak! After trying the 2009 and 2010 fabulous Regulars, I find that I like the fuller richer more intense fruit then the older 2006 Reserva. Go figure. Keep in mind we tried all without FOOD. That may be the difference. CB

Цветочно-битумный аромат, камень, замша, кефирные оттенки. Неплохо. 15.5/20 (87/100)

Nicely resolved, savory, foresty, everything integrated and smoove. Not going to evolve much (if at all) but it'll stay classy for awhile.
