Poderi Aldo Conterno
Romirasco Bussia Barolo Nebbiolo
Youthful but really pretty. Still showing primary fruit and baby fat, but this was gorgeous and elegant. It was opened in the am and slow-oxed. Lots of classic red/black fruits, violets, tar and baking spices.

Aug 28th, 2020Still very youthful but outstanding none-the-less. Decanted at home for 3 hours and poured back in the bottle for dinner. Decanted another hour at the restaurant. The nose is reticent but a few swirls gives you a bouquet of violets and iron. Very pure and more crimson than dark fruit. This wine is expressive and complex but the flavors are still slightly compact. I get cherry, sweet tobacco, menthol and some wood shavings. The finish is luxurious and will lengthen with age. Loads of balance, class and vitality. This will only get better and better.

Jul 18th, 2018Classy stuff with minty aromas and a wave och pure, concentrated red and blue berries, seriously structured tannins and enormous energy och intensely flavored, yet for a wine this powerful, nearly weightless finish.

May 25th, 2015Young with heavy, drying tannins at first but left it another 24 hours before trying it again. Earthy, gamey aromas with some green herbaceousness; strawberries and raspberries, with figs coming into the picture. A balanced, complex wine; a privilege to drink now, but would love to taste it again and again over the next 5-30 years.
