In the regular bottle (magnum), it’s still very backward, but it will - trust me - turn into something spectacular. These gems are always a true honour to taste.

2013 vintage from a 750 ml sample bottle. Floral and herbaceous with hints of bitter chocolate and spicy minerals. Mouthfeel is great and while still a baby, you sense it's potential. Tannic in a positive way, really fresh with gentle signs of secondary flavours coming through. Best from 2022.

Wine of the weekend among ~30 bottles. Stunning cab franc driven flavor profile, with concentration, elegance, and tremendous complexity. Kept changing in the glass over 90 minutes. Just so much to love about this wine. Bravo!

A lot of Loire/Left bank Bdx analogies. Green pepper, red fruit, just a hint of Brett. Double blind I would never put this into Tuscany. Great palate with a medium body, lively acidity, power and tension.
