Always a great Syrah. Not a meaty and gamey as I remember. Great black and blue fruit.

See my prior notes. Becoming a benchmark Syrah in Cali for sure. No signs of aging. Opulent and jammy, finishing with white pepper, bold tannins and complementary acidity. Outstanding.

The 2018 Syrah is a powerhouse. Inky dark fruit and strong varietal notes scream out of the glass. Blackberry jam, dried herbs, licorice, sage, mint, graphite and black pepper all develop with a bit of coaxing. There is a lot of wine here, but a bit of patience is absolutely essential. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2021)

Medium bodied Shiraz from Napa. Tight! Plenty of power,. Needs a much longer decant than we had time for tonight.

Rich and full bodied with dark fruit, vanilla and coffee while still retaining some of the meaty, peppery character of Syrah. Like Napa valley Hermitage.

In our opinion, this is one of the best Napa syrah’s in the < $50 category.
Raspberries and blueberries combine with white pepper, and close to neutral oak. Balanced with suave tannins. Never had a poor bottle of syrah from Plumpy.

Closing in on three feet of rain from Harvey. Reaching for something strong. Plumpjack's 2013 Syrah comes from two of the most high profile Napa vineyards for Syrah, Hudson and Stagecoach. Creosote, mocha, crème de cassis, black raspberry, leather, wild game, incense, lavender, and licorice. A mouth-staining mix of Northern Rhone flavor and Southern Rhone richness, with Napa Valley polish.

A tad hedonistic but who cares!?! The balance is there, the acid is there and the fruit is perfect... like scrapping warm Blueberry pie off of a blue slate plate.

Wow. Burnt toast and bacon. That's basically the low down.
