Paired nicely with grilled steak but was a bit big & not overly fruit-driven when drinking by itself. Not sure how much bolder it would have been without the ageing it had.

Incredible stuff here: hardly showed any signs of age w/minor bricking on swirl but just stunning nose of black & blue fruits w/a fresh lift along w/cocoa, mocha, vanilla, licorice, spice, and a distinct vein of minerality. Just flat out badass. It’s in quite the sweet spot right now - acidity & tannins firing on all cylinders. Tasted this on release and really loved it and amazed at how it shows 20 years in
