Paired nicely with grilled steak but was a bit big & not overly fruit-driven when drinking by itself. Not sure how much bolder it would have been without the ageing it had.

Never ever disappoints. Beautiful wine. As good as you get for $30.

Incredible stuff here: hardly showed any signs of age w/minor bricking on swirl but just stunning nose of black & blue fruits w/a fresh lift along w/cocoa, mocha, vanilla, licorice, spice, and a distinct vein of minerality. Just flat out badass. It’s in quite the sweet spot right now - acidity & tannins firing on all cylinders. Tasted this on release and really loved it and amazed at how it shows 20 years in

I find the 2015 vintage a little musty. Probably needs a few more years of rest. Or is it just overrated?
